Josh Groban’s TV Theme Song Medley on 60th Emmy

What does Josh Groban’s TV Theme Song Medley on the 60th Emmy Award last night have to do with puppets? Well, Animal from Muppets appeared, sang the Muppets theme song, and then got taken away by… (????) Watch for yourself.

Okay, I’m just pointing that out because that part is puppet-related. But of course, the star was Josh Groban. This performance was quite entertaining to watch, because he was singing all these different genres and who knew, he did great impressions of some of the singers and voiceovers too! Possibly the highlight of last night’s Emmy Awards in my opinion.

    Kelvin,
I gave up on Awards Shows YEARS ago, but you’ve re-introduced me to a venue that seems to be taking itself a bit less seriously. I love Josh Groban’s voice – and who knew he could “act” with his voice? And I don’t want to be a “spoiler,” but that “Animal” removal had me in stitches! If you’re saying that it was the highlight of the show, so WHO WON WHAT? I’m on a need-to-know basis here for the “big” categories!

In my opinion, those were the only 4:30 that’s worth watching of the award ceremony. Also a good chunk of the nominations are for cable shows that I simply don’t have access to. I didn’t care that much about the show and we were really channel surfing and chatting instead of staying on that channel with our full attention. In short, I don’t know nor do I care about who won what.

Josh Groban was great. He’s a great singer and has a great sense of humor as well. He did great impressions of South Park and Cops theme songs. His imitation for the Saturday Night Live and Conan O’brien announcers are quite good. Heck, he even rapped. That was awesome.
