Episode 17 – Chet for President

In this episode, Bottle Monster can not decide between Barack Obama and John McCain. And that’s when he discovers another candidate – Chet.

Now, why would I release a video on election day when everyone is watching news coverage of the election turn-out? Good question, I don’t intend to answer it.

Is Chet a character that I’ve recently created? The answer is no. Chet and these other characters in the Chet 2008 campaign ad are part of the Bubbleboy Films, which is another online series of puppet videos. It’s created by Paul Hokanson and is my favorite online puppet series at the moment. I’m a big fan, so thank you, Paul, for letting me use your footages. To see more of Chet and his friends, check out Bubbleboy Films. I’ll probably write more about it later.

Update: Yes, I just voted.

How cute! (Is cute the right word?) I’m literally watching live CNN feed as I type so I can keep up with the election. So exciting!

Is cute the right word? You bet.
I just voted this morning. Now at work and not really following the election news anymore, but will resume later today. :-)

    Hey Kelvin

Very nice work! The piece came together great. And I really appreciate your nice compliments and support of my work. Thanks!

ps: Now that it’s Nov.5, I guess it’s safe to mention an under-reported detail of Chet’s campaign. He never actually ever said he was running for President (or any other political office, for that matter). He couldn’t decide which one to run for because he was convinced that they were all located in really old and drafty buildings, which were probably filled with all manner of dust, mold, and other airborne allergens. Fearing that the country wasn’t ready for a political candidate who could not decide which political office he was actually running for, Chet decided that it was best to just not mention it.

Haha, yeah, and I did see the newest video, in which Chet said something like “although I haven’t picked an office to run for”, I thought, oh yeah, that’s right. I’m going to pretend I didn’t hear that. 😛 That was October 28, and I didn’t start filming until Friday (October 31). And then I did the rough cut over the weekend (you knew that), and put in your footages on Monday. I had time to change it up, but didn’t bother.

I am guessing that Chet is allergic too.
