RYC: Once upon a time, I worked with a super-douchey guy who had, like, a million Chinese / Japanese characters tattoo’ed on him, and he would always brag about how they meant things like “powerful” and “handsome” etc. A few months went by, and we hired a Korean man everyone called Sammi. Douchey would always ask Sammi if he was Japanese because it annoyed him. One day, at lunch, Sammi got sick of Douchey and said “All your tattoo say things like “mean man” and “jerk” and “little girl”. How you like that?” and Douchey was all defensive and snippy for a few days, and then finally came back to lunch and was like “but you’re Korean, you don’t know Japanese!” and Sammi smiled and said “I guess that means you’re gonna stop calling me Jap now, huh?”
