Viagra Prescriptions

Viagra prescriptions At the end of October and beginning of November, viagra prescriptions I spent two weekends helping out on set of a Columbia film school thesis film. Viagra prescriptions It was tiring, viagra prescriptions but was a rewarding experience. Viagra prescriptions Here’s a short video from their fundraiser page to give you a little bit of a background. Viagra prescriptions

Viagra prescriptions POOR PUSSY is a tragic love story set in late-1960s Chinatown. Viagra prescriptions Mai, viagra prescriptions a proud but impoverished seamstress discovers that she may be pregnant with the child of her boss and lover, viagra prescriptions King. Viagra prescriptions Over the course of a night on the town, viagra prescriptions Mai challenges King’s love, viagra prescriptions putting their relationship and her own future on the line, viagra prescriptions discovering a truth about him that changes her perception of him forever.

Viagra prescriptions The director/writer, viagra prescriptions Kevin Lau, viagra prescriptions is currently going to Columbia, viagra prescriptions but decided to do the production in Los Angeles. Viagra prescriptions His good friend, viagra prescriptions Leonard Wu, viagra prescriptions is co-producing the film, viagra prescriptions so he reached out to find people to help out. Viagra prescriptions I signed on originally just because there are already a bunch of mutual friends (the co-producer, viagra prescriptions the assistant directors, viagra prescriptions the casting director, viagra prescriptions the lead actor, viagra prescriptions the sound guy, viagra prescriptions the art guy) on staff. Viagra prescriptions

Viagra prescriptions Originally, viagra prescriptions I was just going to be offering general help since I do know my way around a film set, viagra prescriptions but I also mentioned that I read and write Chinese pretty well and can help in that department. Viagra prescriptions I, viagra prescriptions then, viagra prescriptions became the translator for the portion of the script that’s supposed to be in Mandarin. Viagra prescriptions

Viagra prescriptions Of course, viagra prescriptions the dialogue doesn’t always translate well between languages, viagra prescriptions so there’s a bunch of back and forth between the writer, viagra prescriptions the co-producer and me. Viagra prescriptions Finally we finalized the script. Viagra prescriptions I also provided phonetic transcriptions and voice recordings for the actors, viagra prescriptions since some of them can only speak Mandarin, viagra prescriptions but not read Chinese.

Viagra prescriptions And then came the time of the shoot. Viagra prescriptions I was on set supervising the language portion, viagra prescriptions as in, viagra prescriptions if some of them said a certain line wrong, viagra prescriptions I let the continuity supervisor know that so it doesn’t end up in the final edit. Viagra prescriptions I provide last minute Chinese coaching if the actor is struggling with a particular line. Viagra prescriptions Also, viagra prescriptions I would walk around the set and look at the posters and decorations on the wall to see if the handwritings look authentic. Viagra prescriptions And if the newspaper on the table has a headline mentioning modern day politicians, viagra prescriptions I tear that out.

Viagra prescriptions Beyond that, viagra prescriptions my job was to “do whatever Dave (the assistant director) tells you to do”. Viagra prescriptions So I also helped out with general duties like distributing the walkie talkies. Viagra prescriptions I have known the assistant director for a while now and I think that helped. Viagra prescriptions He knew what he could rely on me to do.

Viagra prescriptions For example, viagra prescriptions in one shot, viagra prescriptions he needed a janitor in the background. Viagra prescriptions I was thinking, viagra prescriptions hm, viagra prescriptions I think I know what’s coming. Viagra prescriptions And a few minutes later, viagra prescriptions he told me to put on a jump suit. Viagra prescriptions Yep, viagra prescriptions totally saw that one coming. Viagra prescriptions And he knew I would do it without any hesitation.

Viagra prescriptions I also ended up being a background extra on some of the days of shoot. Viagra prescriptions I was hanging at a bar, viagra prescriptions sitting at a table talking to a friend. Viagra prescriptions Since the other chair, viagra prescriptions where my friend was supposed to be, viagra prescriptions wasn’t in the shot, viagra prescriptions they just left it empty. Viagra prescriptions So it was just me sitting there talking to my imaginary friend. Viagra prescriptions Maybe it’s the puppeteer thing, viagra prescriptions I don’t know, viagra prescriptions but I am excellent at having conversations with an empty chair (watch out, viagra prescriptions Clint Eastwood). Viagra prescriptions Several cast and crew members noticed and asked what conversation I was having. Viagra prescriptions Well, viagra prescriptions I don’t know either. Viagra prescriptions Seems like an interesting conversation, viagra prescriptions though.

Viagra prescriptions While on set, viagra prescriptions I enjoyed watching people who are really good at what they do work their magic. Viagra prescriptions The actors are excellent at what they do. Viagra prescriptions The crew set up the camera, viagra prescriptions do a few takes, viagra prescriptions change the angle, viagra prescriptions and do more takes, viagra prescriptions so sometimes it’s the same scene over and over. Viagra prescriptions But still, viagra prescriptions it’s interesting to watch over and over. Viagra prescriptions And there’s just something interesting about watching people’s facial expressions through lenses / on a monitor. Viagra prescriptions I somehow enjoy watching the director giving notes to the actors and their reactions. Viagra prescriptions The actors’ faces really do grab my attention more so than other people’s!

Viagra prescriptions And I enjoyed watching the crew as well. Viagra prescriptions The costume / wardrobe person was always going around fixing everyone’s clothing, viagra prescriptions sometimes taking a needle and thread and just started stitching what the actor was wearing while they were setting up a shot. Viagra prescriptions As someone that works with puppets and is routinely fixing the puppet while it’s not on stage / on camera, viagra prescriptions I can totally relate and also enjoy watching her do her stuff. Viagra prescriptions And the people setting up the lights, viagra prescriptions the camera, viagra prescriptions and dressing the set are all really professional too. Viagra prescriptions It’s always fascinating to watch the people that are good at what they do adjusting all these small details to achieve perfection.

Viagra prescriptions You can tell just by looking at the set, viagra prescriptions the props and the operation of the whole shoot to know that countless hours have been put into the planning. Viagra prescriptions Some of them flew from New York for this too. Viagra prescriptions I think it’s beautiful to see a bunch of people sharing a vision and just pour in their work even though they are receiving no monetary compensation. Viagra prescriptions I am really looking forward to seeing the final product.

    Kelvin,

WOW. This is impressive. I liked the fundraising video. Kevin did a great job. He comes across very well on the video. I take the film has been made? I was kind of confused about that, but lucky you for being part of it in more ways than you expected:~)

Keep us informed about the progress of the film. If it is released, I will look for the guy hanging out at the bar and janitor in the background.

Let Kevin know I think the story sounds very interesting and it’s nice he’s able to tell this story on film.

Sounds like fun. Did you say “rhubarb” a lot? (Note to self: try to comment less than a year after the fact.)
